The Car Plays took Orange County by storm at the Segerstrom Performing Arts Center’s Off-Center Festival, featuring nine days of adventurous theatre, music and dance.
In collaboration with Mosaicwonderland and artist/owner Kimberly Jordan, Moving Arts presents a collection of original scenes and monologues inspired by the mosaics and paintings in Ms. Jordan’s current exhibition.

The Car Plays: L.A. Stories returned in June, 2011 at Radar L.A., the International Festival of Contemporary Theatre. The Car Plays examines what transpires in vehicles and gives theater patrons a voyeuristic view inside the diverse array of these moments and lives.

In 2010, Moving Arts blew away Last Frontier Theatre Conference audiences with the performance of Blood and Thunder, and in 2011 we returned to the Mainstage in Alaska with a staged reading of South Bridge by Reginald Edmund.
These premiere plays (3 World Premieres, 2 West Coast Premieres) explore the ties that bind us and the decisions we make to change our lives. Some comedic, some tragic; all five plays are bold and express an emerging playwright’s unique theatrical voice.
As part of The Hollywood Fringe Festival, Moving Arts presented their new, site-specific creation, “ASAP Fables.” This family-friendly event featured the performance of five absurdly impossible and original fables, all of which were created… as soon as possible.
The Silver Lake Jubilee aims to bring together all the eclectic and vibrant cultural enclaves of Silver Lake and it’s surrounding neighborhoods into an annual two-day music and arts street festival. At the 2010 Silver Lake Jubilee, Moving Arts was one of the LA performance groups asked to provide entertainment for festival-goers.

Set in New Orleans during Hurricane Katrina, “Blood and Thunder” tells the story of Marcus, a con artist whose latest plan to ride out the hurricane in his Lower 9th Ward apartment is interrupted by an unwanted visitor, forcing him to face both the flood waters and the ghosts of his past.
In celebration of the fifteenth year of the festival, Moving Arts designed a variety of innovative programming and events.
